Hank J. Walden

Associate

Hank is an Associate in the Dallas office of Freeman Mills PC. His practice primarily focuses on natural resources and the development, acquisition, and divestiture of projects and assets in the energy industry, including the upstream, midstream, and renewable sectors.

Hank has particular experience with the hydrocarbon sector in title examination and the preparation of title opinions, title curative documents, conveyancing instruments, and other land title related agreements. He also represents oil and gas companies as well as individual landowners in matters related to ongoing development operations and transactions, advising on and/or preparing and negotiating oil and gas leases, purchase and sale agreements, surface use agreements, rights of way, easements, royalty sharing agreements, joint operating agreements, farmouts, pooling, regulatory filings, and other related matters and agreements.

However, with many traditional energy clients and landowners now embracing new opportunities in natural resources development, Hank also advises on a growing variety of related projects and matters, including wind and solar leasing and development, lithium exploration, brine leasing, and produced water rights.

Hank understands the practical challenges that clients face. Having previously worked on the corporate side of energy companies of both the small regional and large multinational varieties, he leverages his diverse experience to provide clients with creative legal solutions that are tailored to their specific goals and business needs. Hank clerked with Freeman Mills PC during law school and joined the firm as an Associate in September 2018.
