Mike Forni’s practice focuses exclusively on oil and gas matters. Mike’s transactional experience includes drafting title opinions, negotiating purchase and sale agreements, raising capital, drafting leases, preparing corrective deeds, drafting mineral deeds, and negotiating a wide range of contracts, including service agreements, fuel supply agreements, operating agreements, and joint operating agreements. Mike has also been the lead attorney in a wide range of oil and gas disputes. He has tried three oil and gas trials/arbitrations to full verdict/award, winning all three.

Mike started his professional career as an auditor for a Big 4 accounting firm and became a licensed Certified Public Accountant before law school. During law school, Mike worked as a legal intern for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. After law school, Mike started his legal career at the largest law firm in Dallas working on complex business transactions. Afterward, Mike served as the Managing Partner of a boutique law firm and has held the position of General Counsel and Chief Financial Officer for several closely held corporations. Mike has raised over $80 million in capital, formed and promoted syndicated real estate transactions, and held executive responsibility over international transactions and operations.
